Accelerated Reader Information from  Ms. Morrison, Title 1 Reading Teacher                                                                                                                                                                                          All students in kindergarten – third grade participate in the Accelerated Reader (AR) program.  AR is a program used to motivate students to increase their independent reading.  There is a proven link between strong reading skills and academic success.  Please ask you child about the progress he/she is making in the Accelerated Reader program.  Students are recognized and rewarded for their AR achievements each quarter during an awards assembly.  As an additional incentive, there is an ice cream party at the end of the school year for students that have met their AR goals.  For your convenience, there is also a Home Connect link through AR Renaissance Place.  This is a web-based program that allows you to track reading progress in AR from home.  Log-in information for Home Connect was sent home at the beginning of the year.  If you did not receive this information, or if you have misplaced it and would like additional information, please send a note to school or send an email requesting Home Connect information.

Class DoJo Class                                                                                                                                                                                                                                DoJo has been in use since Sept. or Oct. depending on the classrooms.  The students love having their own character    and working on positive behavioral practices through Class DoJo.  Once parents sign up for Class DoJo communication between classrooms can take place and parents can keep up on events in classrooms and around the school. Free Math Website                                                                                                                                                                                                                    Families are asking if there is a website their child could use to work on math at home.  There are many sites and one some of our students have begun using and report that they love it is PRODIGY MATH which can be found at- https://prodigygame.com/

Valentine Parties                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Valentine Parties will be held Feb. 14th in each classroom.  Classroom teachers will send additional information dealing with their Valentine Party.
